Very Special Kids Remembrance Day 2016

Very Special Kids       Cakes for Very Special Kids                 vsk logo

Cake Designer and owner of  Fantasy Cakes, Sharen, pictured above, recently attended the Remembrance Day for Very Special Kids. Sharen said “I feel fortunate to be able to donate to the day”.

The Charity, Very Special Kids (VSK), supports children with life-threatening conditions by providing a children’s hospice and professional family support services.  Nine hundred families across Victoria with a child with a life-threatening condition receive ongoing support. The support commences at diagnosis through to recovery or sadly bereavement. Many of the children do not reach adulthood.

Remembrance Day

The Remembrance Day was held at the Malvern Town Hall on 9th October, 2016.

The day pays respect to children, Very Special Kids, and supports families.  Sharen said, “I am honored to have been accepted to design the novelty cake”. The cake artists at Fantasy Cakes crafted the design into a dimensional reality. Sharen said, “I was so excited when I viewed the finished product.  The two tiered blue cake with rainbow, depicts the image of children at play. All children deserve love and support. This novelty cake is in recognition of all children.”

A special call out of thanks to all of the volunteers who donate their time to VSK.

Louis Vuitton cake designs

We are having fun designing cakes around one of the great brand names Louis Vuitton.

We had a great time this month coming up with a design and making this amazing 3D bag and cup cake tower for Delta Goodrem’s birthday.

With a visit to Lovisa for the pretty jewelery and trinkets to adorn the bag and board we designed cup cakes to surround the bottom tier with treble cleft music notes, little bitty bags and logo.

We loved how it turned out!!

Religious Cakes Melbourne

On the special occasion that a religious themed cake is required and you live in Melbourne, it’s a good idea to leave this job to professional cake makers.
Good cake shops in Melbourne should be able to create a cake to your design, dietary and size requirements. The cake should suit the theme perfectly and be a visual expression of the occasion or person who is being celebrated. Some examples where a religious cake could be served at are christenings and baptisms, communions, Easter, Christmas and even weddings. Although religious ceremonies are a far stretch from parties, this doesn’t mean that there’s no place for cake!

The cake itself can be designed in whatever shape or form is required – there have been cakes made in the form of a white open bible complete with beautiful gold writing (perfect for a baby’s christening or communion). There are a few companies that make religious cakes in Melbourne, it’s simply a matter of deciding what kind of cake is needed to suit the occasion or ceremony.
